LI: To read the text, gather sort, graph and analyse the data

Our math group created a diagram which shows the top six rivers in Auckland from smallest to largest. We used our collaborative skills to find out the data of each river. We put these rivers in this order from shortest to longest which is Whanau River 5.7km, Puhoi River 13 km, Tamaki River 15km, Waitakere River 16km, Hoteo River 28 km, and Waiora River 65 km. We used our knowledge to come to the conclusion on what river is the longest out of the 6 rivers in Auckland, which is Waiora River.

I found this activity interesting because I learned what the longest and the shortest river in Auckland.

I completed a silde with the hottest and the coldest place on earth.

First I found some information about the hottest place on earth. The hottest place on earth is Death Valley.The temperature  is 80.8 degree celsius. The Timbisha Shoshone Indians were the first people to live in Death Valley.  Death Valley was found when the European Americans tried to find a short cut to the gold fields.

Next I found out the coldest place on earth. The coldest place on earth is Antarctice. The temperature had dropped down to -89.6 degree celsius. The coldest part of the Antarctic is the East part of Antarctica. The Soviet Union found Antarctica in July the 1983.

I enjoyed creating the slide. I did well on finding the information. I need to improve on finding intresting facts.

I learnt how to tell the time.

First, we learnt about the 2 different types of clocks. Analog and digital.  A analog clock have two or some times three hands. The big hand is the minute hand, the small hand is the hour hand. If the clock has a extra hand that is very thin then that is the second.

Lasty, we used an online clock to practice reading the time. For example: if the long hand was on the 11 and the small hand was on the 5 it we be 25 minutes past 11.

I enjoyed because I learned how to tell the time so I can use it to . I need to improve on reading the time on my own. I did well on guessing the 2 types of clocks.

I learned what lenght is.

First we learned what lenght is. Lenght is measuring an object by the longest side of the object you are measuring. For ex: I am measuring a book.  I would find the longest side of the book which is the spine/edge of the book.

Next we learned the different types of way to measure a object or how long it takes to get from a place to place. The different types of measure are milimetres, centimetres, meters, kilometres.

Then I had a google slide and had to measure 6 objects telling the lenght and what type of measure it was. At the last 2 slides we had to measure our own object. In those 2 slides I measured a chromebook and a mask box.

Lastly I made a DLO explaning what is lenght and what are the different types if lenght to measure it.

I enjoyed measuring the objects. I did well on knowing what lenght the object is. I need to improve on knowing how many meters are there in a kilometres.

I learned what statistics are.

First we found answered some question like what month were you born?, how many people live in your house?, can you ride a bike?, and what is everyones favourite colour.

Next I found the answer to each question for ex: The question for can you ride a bike has the answer yes or no. For no, zero people know how to ride a bike. for yes, 20 people know how to ride a bike.

Then I answer all the question in a chart. For what month you were born in Jan there is 1, in Feb there is 2, in March there is 1, in April there are 4, in May there are 1, in June there are 2, in July there are 1, in Aug there are 2, in Sep there are zero, in oct there are 1, in Nov there are 2, and in Dec there are 2.

I enjoyed knowing what statistics is. I did well on writing the chart. I need to improve on understanding what to write for the frequency.

I learned how to add fration with a different denominator.

First I answered the question with the same denominator.

Next I watched a video to know how to solve the problem for adding different denominator.

Then I wrote a problem and passed the problem on to solve the question.

I enjoyed solving the question. I did well on answering the question. I need to improve on using the times table to find out the answer for the denominator.

I completed a basic box challange verstion 2.

I got 100/100 correct. My time was 2 minutes and 10 seconds. Next time I should complete the mix up one.

I enjoyed answering the question. I did well on getting the answer correct. I need to improve on doing it faster.

I completed maths week activities.

First I completed Daily dollar. Daily dollar is to answer questions from the slide. I completed it for Monday level 3.

Next I completed maths millionaire. Maths millionaire is a slide where you have to answer 12 questions.

Lastly we played Survivor series. Survivor series is when you get a picture from pixabay and write down how many likes and downloads the picture has. We also had to see if the picture was landscape or portrait

Finally we do the same task on Tuesday but with different questions and different pictures.

I enjoyed completing the maths week task. I did well on writing my reflection. I need to improve on answering maths millionaires. 

I learnt what a coordinate is.

First I completed a task where we needed to put a object on a coordinate and write the coordinates.

Next I finished a lesson with Miss White and I learned about coordinates.

Lastly I made a google draw of what a coordinate is.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt what a coordinate is. I did well on putting the object on the coordiante. I need to improve on writing the coordinate by writing the bottom number first and the virtical next.

I learned what seqential patterns is.

First I made a patterns for a shape pattern, colour pattern, object pattern, letter pattern, number pattern.

Next I added questions. The questions were what is the pattern?, what comes next?, and what is the third colour?

Lastly I made a answer slide which had the answers to the questions.

I enjoyed making the quiz. I did well on understanding what sequential pattern is. I need to improve on making harder quiz.
