Colour Block – Step it up

I completed a step it up activity from the summer learning journey.

The activity was to design a sunset or a sunrise on the beach.

I started to design how the sinrise would look. I added the colours yellow, purple, and blue for the backround. After that I designed the sea and sand with the lines curve.  Right after that I added the sunrise behind the waves and rocks on the waters. Making connection with the comicquest I added the photos they provided. I used the crab, sand castle, bucket of sand, and a beach ball as well as creating my own beach umbrella.

I found this activity interesting because I had to chose what the different colours they use for sunset and sunrise.

SLJ – Colour Block Landscape

I completed a kick start activity from the summer learning journey.

The activity was to design my own landscape.

To start of I decided to look a the photos provided to ideas.  Using my imagination I created a landscape with mountains, forest, and a lake. The lines that I used to create this image is curve and polyline. Using gradient colours I made the backround into a black to gray colour with the grass going from light green to dark green. Inspired by the pine forest I have seen I decided to design a pine forest for the campers to camp at. left with the little space I created a train track for visitors to visit. Withe the rest of the space I filled it up with a big lake.

I found this activity fun because I could create a landscape using different types of technique with art.

SLJ – Under the sea

I completed a kick start activity from the summer learning journey.

The activity was to design a seabed floor with sea creatures I would like to see under water.

To start of with the design I decided to use the pictures provided. I started to find the right space to add a dolphin. With the other images provided I wanted to made 2 pairs of family. WIth the leftover space I decided to make my own custom orca known as a killer whale. A fact I know about the killer whale is that they hunt in packs and is able to kill the greatest great white shark. With the little leftover space I added a jelly fish from the provided images.

I found this activity fun because I could create a sea bed with many different creatures using my imagination.

Rebus Puzzel – Step it up

I completed a step it up activity from the summer learning journey.

The second activity for the rebus quiz was to find a word and use an emoji to find the word out.

To make the rebus puzzel I decided to find a word to use. I created two puzzels for the readers to solve. To solve it you have to find out the word for the emoji. then next to it it with say minus and a letter. You will have to find the word and take away the letter they tell you to do take away. Eg: the word is Summer. The puzzel will look like this – ☀️-n 🧑‍💼-an 🧜-man. The first emoji is a sun with a minus n. The word will start with su. Then the next word is man with a – an. The word becomes sum. the last clue is a merman – man. Add it together and the word becomes Summer.

I found this activity enjoyable because I could create a puzzel testing my word knowledge.

Rubus Puzzel – Kick Start

I completed a kick start activity from the summer learning journey.

The activity was to create a story using emojis as well as creating a rebus puzzel with it. To make the rebus puzzel I decided to write out my story with google docs. When I finished writing it out I used the emoji tool to help me transform some of the words to emojis if they having in emoji version.  The part I found difficult for me is that I had to find the correct emojis for the word I wanted to transform even if some words  don’t have the emoji version for it.

I found this activity inspiring because I could create a story with my imagination as well as showcasing  some parts of my story with the emojis.

Contrasted Bookmark

LI: Creating contrast with warm and cool colours.

LI: Creating contrast with different lines and shapes.

I completed a kick start activity from the summer learning journey.

The activity was to create a warm and cool colour contrasting bookmark or Contrast with different lines. To make the book mark I decided to use warm and cool colour contrast. With it we had to find out a word to and on the bookmark and I chose family. The technique I use was to do it on google draw and using gradient to mix the warm and cool colours.  I used colour with a little bit of transparent shades to make the colours fit together. A reason why I chose the word family is because my family is there for me whenever I need them even during the sad and happy times.

I found this activity interesting as I could inspire myself with the warm and cool colours together including coming up with a word special to me.

Comic Strip

As pair we completed a kick start activity from the summer learning journey.

The activity was to create a comic in a summer day at the beach. Our comic was about 2 friends on a trip to the beach. A character named Siniva picked up a random ball not knowing what to do until she got the idea to play volleyball. She asked her friend Bethany to play and gladly accepted. On the first round Bethany jumped to hit the ball but missed. She became devastated and wanted a rematch. On the second round the game was going good until Siniva hit the ball hard hitting Bethany in the face laying on the floor. With no chance of beating Siniva she gladly offered to have ice cream with her. Siniva accepts the offer knowing that she doesn’t want to play.

This activity the comic strip was interesting as we came up ways to use our imagination and creativity.
