LI: Creating contrast with warm and cool colours.

LI: Creating contrast with different lines and shapes.

I completed a kick start activity from the summer learning journey.

The activity was to create a warm and cool colour contrasting bookmark or Contrast with different lines. To make the book mark I decided to use warm and cool colour contrast. With it we had to find out a word to and on the bookmark and I chose family. The technique I use was to do it on google draw and using gradient to mix the warm and cool colours.  I used colour with a little bit of transparent shades to make the colours fit together. A reason why I chose the word family is because my family is there for me whenever I need them even during the sad and happy times.

I found this activity interesting as I could inspire myself with the warm and cool colours together including coming up with a word special to me.

  1. Mōrena Bethany,

This is such a fun activity as I love art and seeing everyone’s different interpretations of summer. I think your bookmarks look great and I would have to agree with you on your topic as family is definitely an important part of summer considering how important family is during Christmas time. I like that you also explained the art skills used such as contrasting shapes and colours.

When I think of summer time, the first thing that comes to mind is the beach so if I was to complete this activity I would definitely design a beach themed bookmark!! Do you go to the beach often in summer?

It is great to see you participating in the summer learning journey again this year and I look forward to seeing more of your awesome posts, keep up the great work!

    1. Hello Zana

Thank you for the delightful comment. I loved how you enjoyed the shapes and colour contrast that I used for my bookmark. I loved how you gave a understandable reason about why you also thing family is a good word to use for my bookmark. I have come to the realisation when reading your question is that I actually don’t often go to the beach very much in the summer.

I enjoyed reading your positive comment!

      Regards
      Bethany
