LI:To write a procedural that tells how to make Hangi

How to make Hangi

A Hangi is a traditional steam oven cooking method made by the Maori people of New Zealand.

You will need:

  • Equipment/Materials
  • Volcanic stones
  • Twigs
  • Lighter
  • Sacks
  • Food tray
  • Leaves
  • Sack

 

  • Ingredient
  • Vegetables (cabbage, potatoes, kumara, taro, leaf, pumpkin, water crisp)
  • Meat (ox, chicken, lamb, pork beef)

 

  1. Dig a hole slightly bigger than the food baskets that you will be putting your food in
  2. Collect Twigs, volcanic stones, and iron.
  3. Light the Twigs on fire with a lighter and wait for the iron to turn red.
  4. Get all your food in your food tray. (Meat and Vegetables)
  5. Hook the iron into the hangi hole quickly.
  6. Put the food tray in the hangi meat at the bottom and vegetables at the top.
  7. Cover the food with wet cloth and dirt on top.
  8. Remove the dirt and cloths when finished
  9. Take the food tray
  10. Cut up and season the food and enjoy

I enjoyed the roleplay because I got to know how to explain a procedural with words.
