For this activity we wrote 10 facts about Tokelau for Tokelau language week. We searched up interesting facts about Tokelau on Google and went on websites to find the most interesting facts we could find. We then presented a fact that we found interesting about Tokelau. The fact that I found interesting was that Tokelau was first named as Union Island by the European Explores.

I found this activity interesting because I learnt facts that appeal to me about Tokelau.

Speeches

We chose a persuasive topic for our speech. The topic I chose was why we should respect our cultural values. To see how our expressions were we used adobe podcast. We recorded ourself saying our speech an as we say our speech adobe blocks our our backround noise so we could hear ourself clearly. When we finish recording we could see what we need to improve on. I need to improve on saying my speech more loud and clearly.

I found this activity interesting because we learnt how to use this new website Adobe and we learnt what we needed to improve for our speech.

Hauora

For inquiry we learnt about Hauora and the 4 walls. They are Taha Tinana (physical well being) , Taha Wairua (spiritual well being), Taha Hinengaro (Mental and emotional well being), Taha Whanu (social well being). Taha Tinana keeps your body healthy, Taha Wairua keep you spiritual beliefs alive, Taha Hinengaro means to have good sportsmanship when playing any sport, and Taha Whanu means to love and be next to your family. If you knock down one of these wall then all of them fall down.

I found this activity interesting because I found out information about the Hauora and the 4 walls.

WHy sleep is important

We researched on why sleep is important for us. We answered 7 questions which ask us the effects of sleeping and how things may affect us from sleeping well. We searched about how much sleep does an average person need and how much sleep a baby, toddler, elderly, children, and adults need.

I found this activity interesting because we answered and learned why we need sleep and what might happen to our body what we don’t have enough sleep.
